About the English-Language Steps Homepage

das bin ich
Greetings!

I've found that the double effort involved in maintaining the English-language STEPS homepage has become a significant burden. It wasn't like that back in the "good old days" when our homepage had less content; it was easier to maintain since I only needed to update the tour list and make an occasional correction.

However, since we've expanded the page and added lots of features, the double work load has become extreme. I've kept it up just as a matter of pride (being an American myself and since English is my native language), but at this point (September 2005) the effort has reached a point where I felt I should consider archiving the English version. One factor, of course, is the fact that I have no feedback and therefore no idea whether anyone is reading the English page at all.

The result for the moment: The English page is still "out there," but not up-to-date regarding concerts, etc. However, I have left the content available for those of you who might want to read some of the articles like the history of the STEPS and of the musicians in the group.

So, here are some options:

  • If you have been "secretly" viewing the page regularly and really miss the English version, or if you just want to let me know that you feel a sincere loss, or want to write anything you like on the subject of the English page, or any other subject for that matter, please do me a favor and drop me an email at and let me know!
  • If you'd like to visit the out-of-date version of the English homepage, just for old times' sake or whatever, then feel free to click here and I'll take you to the English page. Please remember that the content is no longer current!

I recently (March 2008) linked my own personal page, containing some of my own background, into the German page, but it isn't easily found. If you'd like to have a look at it then just click here or on my photo at the left.

You can of course return to the German homepage, or go directly to the up-to-date, German-language Concert Page.

If I should receive a loud echo from all sorts of people who have been regularly following the STEPS via the English-language page, I will of course be more than happy to reactivate and update it for everyone!

All the best,
Ralph
